I kept getting errors on two files when opening up a workspace that contains them. "Error accessing R:\Textpad 4\System\HTML.SYN. R:\Textpad 4\System\HTML.SYN contains an invalid path."
But changing the syntax definition for HTML files didn't help. Turning OFF syntax definintion for HTML files didn't work either.
I couldn't find that path (R:\Textpad 4) in my registry.
Grepping through the .tws file, however, showed that two files were somewhat linked to the HTML.SYN files that were no longer on my R drive. Closing the files, and reopening, then re-saving the workspace - this eliminated the problem.
I'd recommend removing links to Syntax files or, if this is important, having Textpad use the default syntax link if & when this error occurs.

Re: Workspace saves path to Syntax files
You have probably set the syntax files for the two html files via the View/Document Properties dialog. Settings made there override the default settings done via Configure/Preferences.
