I'm wondering why the textpad icon doesn't appear besides text files in windows explorer. I've associtated .txt files with textpad (using both windows dialogs and the one under configure->preferences->etc.
Still, there is no icon next to the files, only the default one that windows puts besides files that aren't associated with anything. I'm using textpad v4.4.1 under Windows2K.
Any help would be appreciated,
Tony

Re: Textpad icon in explorer
I managed to change the icon...I believe you do this by My Computer; View, Folder Options: then find .txt files and Change Icon and scroll to the location of the Icon you wish to use to replace it.

I'm experiencing the same thing. It only seems to occur on Windoze 2000.

Re: Textpad icon in explorer
I had the same problem in 2000, and this actually worked by accident(!):
1. I associated a file type with TextPad from within TextPad
2. I then associated the file type with TextPad from explorer
3. I then used the RESTORE button (replaces the advanced button) in the file type's properties.
After I hit restore, oh and behold, the icon's were correct. I don't know why...
