Linux clone??

It seems that TextPad will not appear in a Linux edition, unfortunately.
Does anybody know of a Linux editor with the same behaivour of:

Indentation, and word wrapping

I cannot find any that does. almost everybody editor makes hard linebreaks when wordwrapping and does not "suck up" the wrapped lines when deleting on a wrapped lines neighbour "upstairs"

http://nedit.org/ is great ... i am pretty sure it handles linebreaks the way you'd like.

Also, jedit or one of the other Java based editors may help.
