Does anyone have the step-by-step guide how to change my default text editor from Notepad to TextPad in windows XP Pro?

Have you tried the txplink from the Add-ons/Utilities page?
The Win2000 version works for me.

or do it the long way...
Select the configure/preferences menu
Select "associated files" entry
Add every extension you can think of that would require TextPad
(.txt, .ini, .bat etc etc)
