Macro substitution in clip libraries

Hi there,

I'm trying to set up TextPad so I can insert a dated comment block automatically, using either a macro (possible but slow since it's gotta play back the entire keystroke sequence) or a clip library. Is there any way to denote a variable - something like $ShortDate - inside a clip library, which will be replaced with the current value (in this case, the current date in short format) every time the clip library entry is inserted?

You can't use variables in the clippings (at least not in any versions less or equal to 4.5) so a macro would be the only way.
