When I right click on an HTML doc I'm editing in Textpad and select View in Web Browser the following error message is displayed: "A device attached to the system is not functioning". I've read the threads about this error but I still can't get it to work here. One of the things I don't understand is the Folders/WWW IP Address setting. Does Textpad require a local web server to be running to display a HTML page in a browser? If not, how is this IP address used?
I don't have a local web server running. It's prohibited by my company because web servers are now an avenue for propagating worms. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can view the rendered HTML in a browser?
Thanks!

Re: View in Web Browser doesn't work
Textpad will try to use the default browser setting in Windows. If no there is no default browser set (usually IE) the may throw an error message. For cross browser testing I usually have different browser programs assigned to my Tools menu. You may try doing that and see if it works.
Textpad does not require an IP address setting in order to display web pages.
