View Source: Open as HTML

Post by Scott Fleischman »

I got the View Source in Internet Explorer to view it in TextPad, as in the FAQ. However, since the IE cache/temp files do not have an extension, it opens it up in the Text class syntax. I am looking for a good way for it to open up in HTML syntax.

One way is everytime you view source, you can go to Properties and change the syntax. But that gets tedious doing it for every document, and also you would have to change things like tabulation in addition to syntax.

Another way is to put the *. files as HTML instead of text. But that makes all files that have no extension open up as HTML, which isn't really ideal.

I didn't see any command line options to force a syntax mode.

Are there any other ideas or suggestions? Or something I'm missing?

Thanks much!
