Creating Clip entries with hot spots

Post by Craig Wageman »

I can't find details about how to create a clip entry with a hotspot. The online help in TextPad 4 indicates (I think) that I should be able to create the following

<b>\^</b>

as a clip with the hot spot being identified by the \^ between the begin/end bold tags. Then, highlighting some text in an HTMLfile, I should be able to invoke the clip entry to cause the highlighted text to be surrounded by the begin/end bold tags.

This does not seem to work. It just replaces the highlighted text with <b>\^</b> and does not recognize the \^ as anything special.

How do I create and use a clip entry with a hot spot?

Thanks,
Craig
Andreas

I just tested:
when I type
something\^somethingelse
select and copy it, paste it into the clip book as new entry
then select the word
dummy
then use the new clipping, the result is
somethingdummysomethingelse
so it works as supposed - I have version 4.4.1, and as far as I know it worked in all 4.x versions as supposed
