Search Open Files

Hi,

One thing that Textpad lacks (unless I'm being stupid), is the ability to search the contents of the open files. When I was forced to use EditPlus, this turned out to be one of EditPlus's strong points over TextPad, and now I'm able to use TextPad again, I really miss being able to search only the files that are open.

Obviously you can use the Find in Files option, but this only works if you can specify the open files in the wildcard. An extension to this command to limit the search to the open files would be fantastic!!

In the "Find" settings there's a checkbox right under "Extend Selection" called:
"In all Documents" (ie. all open ones) ... I think that's what you want.

Ok, so maybe they use a bigger font in EditPlus!! ;o)

Now that I've found it, it could be better - why can't the list of matches found appear in the Search Results document, as if it was the results for "Find in Files" rather than having to switch between the documents all the time?

Or am I being stupid again?

With that I'd have to agree. It *is* a form of "Find in Files" so dumping the results to the Search Window would make a lot of sense, and be more flexible too.
