Linux version please!!!

Post by Paul Dias »

Hi,

I think TextPad is one of the best text editors I've ever used, but why is it only available for Windows?

There's a real need for a decent, easy to use and configure text editor for Linux - TextPad for Linux would be most welcome.

Any chance of this?

Cheers,

Paul.

Because although Windows is the most unreliable and unstable of the current operating systems, it is also the most used. Therefore it has the biggest market.

I'm waiting until linux is a little more user friendly (ie get rid of all that command-line shell stuff! (ie anything that requires thinking :-))

Wait a second...! The latest distributions of Linux are just as user friendly as windows. I work a lot on a SuSe 7.0 installation, and find it just as easy to set up and use as my win98 and win2k machines.

For anyone who does more than just write letters in MS Word, the command line is extremely important, because it's our way of controlling the GUI. In windows, the GUI controls you.

...but as linux gets more user friendly (and thus looks more and more like windows), the hardcore pinguins migrate to BSD...
