UTF-8 encoding issues
I have a file saved with UTF-8 encoding, and when I try to open it in Windows 2000 using TextPad 4.4, I get: "<file> contains characters that do not exist in code page 1252 (ANSI-Latin I). They will be converted to the system default character, if you click OK". It is my understanding that TextPad should sense the encoding and just open the file. I also noticed that the "encoding" dropdown list in the file open dialog only lists DOS and ANSI as options, not UTF-8. Can anyone provide any assistance? Thank you.
