Icon for TextPad not shown

If I open my Explorer in Windows 2000 and I'm looking for textdocuments, all
my files doesn't show the correct TextPad icon. TextPad is defined as
default application for TXT files. What shall I do, to get the corresponding
icon?

In Explorer, go to View/Folder Options, then File Types, look for txt, then click on Edit, then on change icon, browse for textpad exe, then select icon.
