Can I configure tool buttons and Compaire tool

Post by M. Moolhuysen »

Hello Forum members,

The "Tools" toolbar is showing a range of "hammer/number" icons, which link to the custom macro's. Is it possible to personalise these icons, into custom made images that are more meaningfull to an absent-minded user like myself ?

I'm not very happy with the layout of the "Compaire Files..." tool. I prefer to use the freeware program ExamDiff, which has a much clearer presentation method.
Can I configure Textpad or a macro into using this external program, in such a way that it opens and compairs the first two files that are open in Textpad ?
In other words, similar as how the existing "Compaire Files..." tool is working.

Greetings, M. Moolhuysen.

As I see it there is only one way to configure the toolbar button images:
open textpad.exe with a resource editor (like Visual Studio...) and then go to the appropriate toolbar and edit the images.
But I would not recommend to do it, with your next update/re-install/... you would loose your images.

Have you activated the tooltips for the toolbars? (right-click on a toolbar, select customize, then check "Show Tooltips". The Tooltips shown are the same texts as in the menu entry.
