Entering Binary Values

I'm researching text editors for our shop. I need one that I can view and edit in binary. Specifically, I need to be able to handle <x0c> and <x1d> characters. Can TextPad do that for me?

The latest version of Textpad (4.4) supports binary viewing, but opens the files in read-only mode... there is no ability to edit/save in binary. This is one of the very few places where I feel Textpad is lacking, hopefully this feature will be added in a future release.
