Open file from explorer, tab does not get focus

Post by PX03AFK »

I'm not sure if I have something wrong with my settings but with TextPad 9 whenever I open a file by double clicking it in Windows Explorer, the file opens OK but if I then try to do a Find on the file, or move the cursor with the arrow keys, I have to click on it to get it to become the focus. I'm fairly sure I didn't need to do that with previous versions.

Same issue here. I don't see any resolution. But I'll open a file and I used to be able to immediately type. Now I have to click to give the window focus.

Double clicking an associated file in Windows File Explorer works as expected for me with TextPad 9.9.2 and 8.20.2 on both Windows 10 and 11. I've tried it with and without document tabs being displayed, and it doesn't make any difference if the file is opened in a new instance or an existing one. What's causing the difference with your experience?
