Bug (v9.4) Split pane left no longer possible

Post by IanOfYork »

Dragging a document tab to the right side of a pane, shows feedback when the mouse is over half way across.
Releasing the mouse then splits the pane and drops the document into the right side.

Dragging a document tab to the left side of a pane, does not show any feedback.
Releasing the mouse then splits the pane and drops the document into the right side.
In version 8, this would drop the document into the left side.

You can work around this by using the New Vertical Tab Group command on the Window menu.

Thanks, but not really.

The New Vertical Tab Group command splits the current tab group with the the current file on the right.
This has the same effect as dragging an existing document tab to the right side of the current tab group.

In v8, dragging a document tab to the left side of the current tab group puts the document in a new tab group on the left.
In v9, dragging a document tab to the left side of the current tab group puts the document in a new tab group on the right.

Nudge ...

Version 9 only allows a tab group to be created on the right.
Dragging an existing tab to the right side shows a highlight — when released, the file is put into a new tab group on the right.
Dragging an existing tab to the left side does not show a highlight — when released, the file is put into a new tab group on the right.

Please create a new command: New vertical tab group (left)
and rename the existing command to: New vertical tab group (right)
