Great idea... but apparently a scroll bar short.
Can't distinguish my file names on the right hand side
Since I am not prepared to shorten my paths, I look forward to using them in a future version.

A horizontal scrollbar sure, and maybe also a sizable window.
Since I'm not fond of v9.1: isn't "Recently used files" a column header? If yes and it's not readonly, you could drag its end (the right side) to make it wider.

Re: V9.1 Re: Manage History Lists
If you hold the mouse cursor over any line, it will pop up a window showing the full text.
"Recently used files" is the first option in a drop-down list which includes Search Strings, Replacement Strings, File Filters and Folders to Search.
This feature is available in versions 9.1.0 and 8.16.0.

Re: V9.1 Re: Manage History Lists
The lists would be more useful if the whole width of the entries were visible together, which would require, as AmigoJack suggests, a resizable window.
Also useful would be the means:
to attach the search options (whole words, match case, regex, etc.) to each search string, and
to attach each replacement string to its corresponding search string.
For those of us that use workspaces these lists are much less useful than they might be because they belong to TextPad as an application, not to individual workspaces. When we open a workspace, the lists available are those that we were using in the workspace that was closed most recently and are likely not to be relevant in this workspace; those we last used in this workspace have dropped off the end of the list. The lists would be more useful if there were an option to attach them to the workspace.

So it does, after a bit. Not convenient if you are looking for a particular file - you have to hover over each entry in turn.If you hold the mouse cursor over any line, it will pop up a window showing the full text.
FWIW I like the resizable dialog suggestion - matches the resizable search and replace dialog, which has always been a useful feature.

Help | Check for updates... says there is new v9.1. Download and install.
Hurrah! Have now got a horizontal scroll bar on the list:
Scrolled as far as possible to the right, it reveals the '...' at the ends of the abbreviated filenames.
Not quite what I had hoped for!
