TextPad reopens after I close it

TextPad 8.8.1 registered
if I have 1 or several files open (within a single instance) then close each one in turn, after saving, TextPad restarts by itself with the last-closed file.

Windows 10, any/all updates.
Pc has plenty of RAM, plenty of disk space,

You could try upgrading to TextPad 8.10.

If that doesn't help,what is the file extension you are using? If it's a *.tws file, try unchecking the option to "Reload last workspace at startup".
