appdata path error

Post by WayneCa »

I just bought a new laptop. I transferred TextPad from the old computer to the new computer. When I save a file I get an error that a backup can't be made because of an incorrect path in the appdata pathname. The error exists because my new computer created the user account name using part of my email address name instead of my name. The old computer used my name as my user account name.

Trying to find an answer to this on the Windows support site has been unsuccessful. I downloaded and installed the TextPad 8.9.0 update, but that didn't change anything. Can anyone here tell me how to rectify this? My new computer is a HP Pavilion running Windows 11. My old computer is a HP Pavilion running Windows 10.

In Textpad, go to Configure -> Preferences -> Folders and check whether all folders configured there are correct.
