Organize Document Tabs

Post by WayneCa »

I know I can click and drag the tabs to organize them, but when you have two rows going across the screen, you can never get them organized the way you want them. The mouse function will drop the tab pretty much anywhere and the tab system in TextPad will re-arrange them on you. Is there an easier way to organize the tabs than dragging them?

I also have this problem. Trying to arrange two files that were being worked on together so that they would be next to each other. Frustrating.
Thank you, and

But you know the alternatives?
  • Use the Document Selector (key F11)
  • (...and) Disable tabs entirely (window menu > View > Document Tabs)
  • Disable multilined tabs (window menu > Configure > Preferences > View > Tabbed Document Selector > (untick) Stacked)

Hello Amigo,

I have tried using that, but I often have 20-50 files in a workspace and finding a file in that list is harder than looking through the tabs. Also the order in that list, if I remember correctly, is not itself static.

But thank you for your thoughts about the problem.
