[SOLVED] Removing old Search and Replace entries
How can I remove old Find and Replace entries? Used to remove them by editing ConfigState.xml using another text editor, but this no longer works. I clean them and when I restart TP, the old parameters are still there. I must have missed something.

I never had the idea to delete old "find" entries - to the contrary I'd have preferred if the list were longer so older entries wouldn't drop out as fast as they do ...
But now I tested it - closed textpad, edited ConfigState with a different program, restarted textpad, the deleted entries were gone.
I then made a new search in textpad. While textpad was still open, I opened ConfigState again - new entry was not present. I closed textpad, and ConfigState editor announced change of file - reload then showed the new entry.
Did you maybe not close Textpad before you deleted the entries? The configState.xml is written when Textpad is closed, so changes to the file before closing will be overwritten by Textpad.
If that doesn't help - the list is limited to 20 entries - so searching/replacing up to 20 times for some harmless stuff should remove unwanted entries ...

MudGuard, I closed the topic because one, or all three files in that folder were corrupt. Uninstalled TP, cleaned the registry manually, and did a clean install and everything is fine. Both issues I posted here recently are resolved.
TextPad is closed when editing the ConfigState.xml file in Notepad++.
I've cleared the Find and Replace entries many times before successfully and kept on using the same ConfigState.xml file. Also have several backups of the \8 subfolder, because I am aware of its importance. But the clean empty backups showed the same list I was trying to get rid of. All is well that ends well.
