Change text font size?

I normally never need to use anything but the default text. But right now I want one of my several open documents to print with a different font and size and I'm making heavy weather of it!

What steps must I take to accomplish this trivial task please?

Looking in Preferences > Document Classes it seems I must first close all open files and then add and define a new class? Surely it must be simpler than that?

This is version 7.6.4 (64-bit).

Open the document properties dialog:
View | Document Properties or <Alt+Enter>
In the Font tab select Scope: Printer.
Then select the font details.
Select OK.
