Unicode in Clip Books

Post by Mike Olds »

Hello,

I have done a search for this issue and did not find a solution.

I would like to save unicode characters in Clip Books. I can copy a character and paste it into a new book and before saving, it appears correctly, upon saving the book the characters revert to ... ANSI?

I see comments in some of the articles I searched about saving Clip Books as utf-8; but I do not see where this can be done. Clicking Save Book does not give me any options as to encoding.
Thank you, and
Best Wishes,

This may look like a feeble-minded question, but it isn't.

I have tried the following to no good result:

New Book. Save (no option to save as utf-8)
Edit, Save As utf-8
Add one entry.
Save
Test entry: works fine
Close Textpad or open new instance
Refresh list
Test entry non-utf-8 character

Open TCL file to find it is not utf-8

Similarly, opening the TCL file from user/app data/roaming/textpad/8
Save as utf-8
Same result
Check View/document properties ... no longer utf-8!

Would somebody tell me what I am not doing or doing incorrectly, or at least tell me that this cannot be done at this point.
Thank you, and
