Editing a Windows 10 registry entry

Post by CWBillow »

Some time back I remember a post showing how to set up a definition class that would allow TextPad to safely and correctly edit registry entries.

It involved as I recall setting up a definition class for UTF-8 (?).

Of course, now I cannot find the notes on that.

How do I set up the definition class to work with registry entries?

Not needed - just save the file with the encoding "UTF-16" to achieve the same. Or edit an existing REG file (I doubt you're able to write a new one from scratch).

OK, thanks. I have a "template" I just found for writing reg entries, but in fact most of my use is via editing already existing or exported entries.
