Version 7 to Version 8 transition

Post by dforrest »

I am currently using version 7 and have many clip library items, macros, tollbar macros, document classes and syntax definitions which I use.

If I upgrade to version 8 will I loose these or will they be transferred to the new version?

I believe these are all transferred to the new installation. (I don't know about the toolbars, because I don't use them.)

All my settings, toolbars etc were tranferred, although I didn't have many toolbar changes.

However, installing textpad V8 leaves V7 alone, and the two versions can exist together until you are sure you are happy with V8.

So you have nothing to lose by trying it.

Thanks ben and miked. What happens with file associations and the Notepad replacement settings?
