TextPad 7 memory maps files, when writing to local hard drives, and uses regular file system writes to networked folders. Version 8 always uses regular file system writes, so it's worth your while checking if that makes the difference with your SSD drive.

Interesting difference. I will try when I get a chance, thanks.

TextPad 8 works on my local SSD, no write delay.

I'm having this same issue. my c:\ drive is NOT an SSD. It started about a week ago - very frustrating. (no textpad updates or changes)

notepad++ save the exact same file immediately, texpad 5 is taking forever, definitely reducing my productivity. I don't want to change editors just because of this, but I may have to

what can I check?

Mine is also on a corporate PC where I don't have the ability to turn off AV or uninstall Windows updates. :(

update: tried with textpad 7.6.2 and the same thing happened. it did not happen in 8.0.2
