"Find What" problem

The "Find What" box contains a search string.

When I try to clear that search string, it returns.

When I try to type a different search string, the original search string returns.

What can I do to resolve this problem?

[I'm using TextPad 7.4.0 (64-bit version)]

Please try renaming the XML file (ConfigState.xml, to see if that solves the problem. Exit from TextPad before renaming the file.

In windows 7 it's stored here:

C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\7.

That fixed the problem.

P.S. I have a similar problem with the paper size in Internet Explorer 11: I can't change the paper size from 3x5 to letter or legal.
