Textpad ends the session

I have a text file with 2,400 rows and each row has characters.

Why does TextPad 7.0 end the session as soon as I open the file?

Why does TextPad 7.0 end the session after I've made changes to the data but it doesn't save the file or ask me if I want to save the file?

Please upgrade to TextPad 7.4, and if Windows has recently installed some updates, please ensure that you reboot your computer in order to complete the process.

Is this closing (shutting down) issue a problem with TP 7.0?

I seem to recall some shutdown and/or crash issues with 7.0.x versions, and I see references in the release notes.
