EE, just coming back to regular Windows use after years of nearly exclusive OS X use. Got very used to having easily-accessible key combinations for special characters, especially Greek letters.
Back in the day, the TextPad ANSI clip library was a constant companion, but I have been unable to hack my way to what I need from the existing Unicode tcl's posted.
Two specific issues:
It seems the tcl files must be saved in ANSI format in order for the characters to display in the clip window? If I save them as UTF-8, the symbols all break.
I can not figure out how to get a capital delta to render by using cut and paste from a Notepad file. It works here in the forum: Δ yet if I open a Notepad-created text file, I get gibberish in TextPad. Is there some "special" Microsoft UTF format in use?
thanks in advance..
BTW, TextPad is one of the very few things I actually miss when working on a Mac. Foobar2000 is another.
Trouble with UTF-8 symbols
