Set folder location for ConfigState.xml and GUIState.xml

Post by kkaran »

Is there a way to change the folder location for ConfigState.xml and GUIState.xml and TextPadKey.xml? I am using TextPad on a company machine and they restrict me to writing folders on the C drive.

There is post with the same subject under the "Enhancement Suggestions" subforum but that was years ago.

I think the location of the configuration files is hard-coded as %APPDATA%\Helios\TextPad\<version> but you can try using the Portable Wizard to create a licensed copy in a different location: Start Menu > All Programs > TextPad > Portable Wizard.

Information on how to change the location of the configuration files can be found in the Help files Reference Information section, Command Line Parameters.
