Two part question - using Texpad 7.4 in Windows 7

Post by ineuw »

I am in the process of switching to Windows 7 from XP, and my Startup, Spelling, and macros folders which were never part of the XP installation, resided on a data drive to protect my work. Now in Windows 7, I still use the same data drive, specified the same folders in the Preferences and this works fine. The hardware is the same 32bit.

1. However, I would like to use the same color settings and anything else I changed, other than the above mentioned. Is it OK place my Windows XP TexPad 7.4 configuration files in Windows 7 to have the identical colour configurations and anything else I customized? Which files should I copy, if possible?

2. In Windows 7, the Textpad frame is a very sombre dark blue and menu bar is a dark grey blue funereal colour. Is there a way to change these. I could upload a snapshot, is this possible?

Your colour preferences are stored in the file %APPDATA%\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\7\ConfigState.xml. You should be able to copy it from XP to Windows 7. Just make sure TextPad isn't running when you update the file.

To change the window colour, try the options in the View > Appearance menu.
