TextPad Cut & Paste Problem
OK. Within TextPad, I tried "Configure->Preferences->Editor - keystroke compatibility -> select Microsoft applications", closed TextPad, restarted TextPad. No change in behavior. Same problem as before.
Thanks for the suggestion. BTW, I have all the latest MS Win7 Pro patches installed.
Any other thoughts?

If you find you are unable to paste in TextPad, please look at the following link and read all the comments. It may help.

One user found the solution within the discussion. In this particular case, it was Webroot Anti-Virus software "protecting" Textpad from potentially passing sensitive data.

TextPad v7.2.0 64-bit problem with cut/paste solved!
Thanks for the Microsoft link. It provided a hint Webroot AV might be the problem. Being a new PC, one of the first applications I installed was an anti-virus application, Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus (latest version v8.0.4.70). It turns out that Webroot would automatically and incorrectly deny any personal info (cut & paste data) to be exchanged with the TextPad application.
Solution:
As administrator, change the Webroot settings as follows.
Under settings: Identity Protection > Settings (Gear icon) > Application Protection > change button from "DENY" to "ALLOW" for the TextPad entry. Then reboot PC (or restart Webroot AV/ TextPad) and check to see if this setting change is retained. This fixes the cut & paste problem. Note: do not just delete the TextPad application entry in the Webroot table since it will merely automatically and incorrectly add TextPad back on the "DENY" list.
