Error dialog when closing TextPad 7 in WIndows8

Post by schildb »

I'm running Windows8 64-bit and when closing TextPad 7 with an opened document I get a dialog that states "Unexpected and unrecoverable error. Would you like to save a dialogic file?"

Update 7.0.7 appears to have fixed this problem.

We've had a couple of other reports of this problem in Windows 7, but cannot reproduce it. The dump files from the crashes show it occurs just as TextPad is exiting, but give no clue as to why. It could be due to an interaction with another process running at the same time (eg. antivirus software), so can you try closing all other applications to see if that makes any difference?

I only notice it when I'm installing software or updates. I have install codes in txt files and open them during the update. Once I copy the information in to the installation program I close TextPad and the error message appears.

Have you tried 7.0.9?
