Dialogs inaccessible, outside of viewable window

Post by jeffy »

I am having a problem with dialogs.

When I make TextPad really small, like very thin at the bottom of the screen, and then I open the find or replace or find in files dialogs, they ARE open (I can type a search term and press enter and they DO do the search), but I can't see the dialog. It far below or to the right of my "monitor"

Even when I re-maximize the screen, and close and re-open the dialog, they're still inaccessible. The only way I can make them return is to close all instances of TextPad and then reopen it.

Am I missing something here? Thank you for helping me!

focus the invisible dialog (usually done by selecting the find/replace/... command in menu)
press Alt+SPACE
at some edge of the screen, a Windows menu appears.
Select "Move Window" (or similar - I only have a German Windows available right now) in this menu.
Mouse pointer is now a cross of arrows.
now press one of the cursor arrow keys.
the dialog is now "attached" to the mouse pointer.
move mouse pointer to the position you want to place the dialog.
click left mouse button.

(this is windows behaviour, works with other applications as well)

Perfect. Wish TextPad knew that the current dialog coordinates were out of the viewable area, but this is a great workaround.

Thanks!
