Open dialog won't show hidden folders

Post by PCPete »

There doesn't seem to be a way to show hidden folders in the open dialog.

For example, try opening \Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts. using the Open dialog. The folders and files are hidden, and can't be displayed.

Of course, the workaround is to enter the whole (or relative) path into the default Open dialog pathbar (at the top of the dialog).

But that's a bit clumsy... IMHO, it should be either an option (display hidden or system files and folders) or turned on all the time.

Thoughts?

The File open and save as dialog boxes are displayed by the shell, so take the same folder options as for Windows Explorer. Try enabling "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in its View options.
