Commands to scroll screen

Post by eyeballfarmer »

Is there a command or shortcut to scroll the current screen view so that the current cursor position is moved to the middle vertically?

I can wheel up or down, or mouse on the scroll bar, but I want a keyboard command to do so quickly. Other editors have this.

Thanks!

Unfortunately there's no single command to do this, but you can use the Ctrl+Up and Ctrl+Down keys to scroll the view without moving the cursor, so you can manually move the current line to the middle of the window.

Thanks for the reply.

Now for the annoying question where I should have looked before asking...

Is TextPad user modifiable with add-ins or such so that one could write a bit of code to do what I want, like moving the current cursor position to a different place on the screen? Or, are we stuck with the suggestion box?

If modifiable, I would endeavor to do so with TextPad since I use this fine editor all day every day. Scrolling the screen is my single biggest bottleneck (ctrl-up and ctrl-down help, but still slow).

Thanks again!
