Can't set Appearance in version 6.2.2

Post by amosca »

I upgraded from 6.1.3 to 6.2.2.
Version 6.1.3 has menu option View -> Appearance.
It is missing from my 6.2.2 install.
The UI has defaulted to "Dark" which is hard on my eyes.

How can I restore the light appearance?

Please try renaming the XML file ( GUIState.xml),to see if that solves the problem. Exit from TextPad before renaming the file.

In windows 7 it's stored here:

C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\6.0.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response.
I created a new toolbar, added Appearances, set it to Light.
All is well.
I'll keep the rename approach in mind.

Deleting GuiState.xml Works

Post by Kiwi6469 »

I had the same problem. Deleting GUI state restores the GUI to it's defaults, including making the Appearance menu item appear.

Restoring the GUI according to my preferences was a matter of a few clicks to set toolbars and their positions - main configuration (stored in ConfigState.xml) was unaffected (phew!).
