Somehow I managed to disable or hide my main menu bar. Only the tool bars will show. I was originally using v. 5.4.2, but installed v. 6.2.2 and it picked up the same configuration. I tried F10 to no avail. Anyone have any idea what I have done, or if it is even a TextPad problem?
I did notice that when I launch TextPad, I see the main menu bar very briefly before it disappears and only the tool bars remain at the top of the window.

Reset Textpad
I had this problem to. The easiest way I found (and it will reset Textpad's orientation and settings) is to go to...
C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\5.0
C:\Users\[USER NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\6
and delete the files in those directories. Make sure textpad is closed when you do this. Then open textpad once the XML is deleted and Textpad will regenerate them with default settings.
If you want to do it in a less destructive way, you can find the setting that hid it. I am sure someone else can chime in with that if you want to keep your textpad configurations and not reset them.

That fixed the problem.
It still would be nice to know what I did to cause the issue, so it will be interesting to see if anyone has any idea of the specifics. Guess I can try diff'ing the old files and the new ones to see if anything stands out.
BTW, "AppData" was a hidden folder, at least on my company computer setup, so something to watch on your Windows Explorer settings.
Thanks!
