Set folder location for ConfigState.xml and GUIState.xml

Post by robertcollier4 »

In Textpad - it is great that you can set the locations of your user settings folder via Preferences --> Folders.

Doing this, I am able to have my custom settings such as CUSTOM.BND (custom key bindings) in my dedicated settings folder on my D Drive.

However - I am unable to set the location of the main two settings files, ConfigState.xml and GUIState.xml - which still reside in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Helios\TextPad\6

How can I stop using the C Drive completely for any of my settings - and have ConfigState.xml appear in the same folder as CUSTOM.BND?

Textpad Portable

Any chance on a future version of Textpad being portable?

Why the need to write to C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Helios\TextPad

Can't there be an option to just store all the settings file in the local application directory?

This would help so much.
My backup process has to save the textpad XML files.
Textpad is the only application on my system where I have to do this.
