How to eliminate submenu delay?

Post by Ben C. »

Hi,
can someone please tell me how to make submenus open instantaneously in TP >5, like in 4.7 and earlier? The delay annoys me a lot, and it's the only thing that still keeps me on 4.7.3. Thanks.

If you're familiar with the Windows Registry, you can try changing the value of MenuShowDelay under the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop and see if that makes a difference. The default value is 400 (milliseconds). I have it set to 50 on my system.

Thanks for the input. This registry key indeed affects the behaviour of some submenus, e.g. in the Windows Start menu, but unfortunately software like Office or TP don't respect it, so the solution lies somewhere else.
