Ad a file to "Favorites/Bookmarks"

Post by matelot »

Add a file to "favorites/bookmarks" like one does with a web page -
Is there any way - built-in or add-on - to have this functionality ?

textpad is a joy to use but it's a pain ALL THE TIMES to have to go thru all these hassles to locate/find a file. :?:

not as comfortable as bookmarks in a browser, but what I do to open frequently used files is to generate an entry in the tools menu
(see also Textpad online help)
- Configure/Preferences/Tools
- button 'Add'/Program => File Open dialog => search Textpad.exe =>
=> new Entry 'Textpad' in tree at the left
Click Entry in Tree; rename to MyFile.txt
right side of window:
Command: <PathToYourTextPad.exe>\TextPad.exe
Parameters: <PathToFileYouWantToBookmark>\MyFile.txt
Initial folder: $FileDir
OK

Menu Tools/external tools => entry appears

Yes but I dont see how this is a "proper" solution - say I have 30 fav files, I keep them inside the workspace ? so they all get opened at the same time, they I have to find the one fav and close the 29 tabs ?

that's painful

thanks for the suggestion. I think I will stick with letting the web browser do this.
