Enable/Disable shortcut keys (aka hotkeys)?

Post by Jack Hairston »

I fat-fingered something and managed to turn off all shortcut keys.
For instance {Ctrl+F5} no longer opens the Find-In-Files dialog.
Any steps to re-enable these handy keys?

Try this: click Configure > Preferences, click Keyboard, and then click Reset All.

When I clicked Configure > Preferences > Keyboard, the Reset All was disabled.
When I drilled down from Keyboard > Search > SearchFiles, it showed the correct hotkey (Ctrl+F5), but it still does nothing when I click that key.

Thanks for the clues,

Is that the only shortcut that doesn't work? You've mentioned Ctrl+F5 a few times but in your original post you said you've managed to turn off all shortcut keys. What about the other 150 or so shortcuts, like Ctrl+O for Open, Ctrl+S for Save, etc?

I just tried again, and this time {Ctrl+F5} and {f5} both work. <shrug>
I have worked the help desk for years, and have seen many situations where users would report one thing while keying another, so I don't think that is the problem.
Thanks for your interest in following up, ak47wong.
