How to select differnt lines in text file

My daughter has a task that involves extracting content from PDFs and editing in TexPad.

The text looks like this:


Ms. Martha Perry

Mr. C. Grant Pierson

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Portland

Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Price

Ms. Kristen Mertz and Mr. Andrew Pugh

Dr. and Mrs. David Segel


She needs to select specific lines ...... Say, just the first and the next to last

Thanks ...... I had looked at bookmarks ......

If you open the text in Word, you can select specific lines with a Ctrl and mouse click ...... then you can copy / delete etc.

Setting bookmarks seems like a long way to accomplish the same ......
