Word break at line # stuck SOLVED

Hello,

I seem to be having on and off problems with configuration after installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Here's the latest. After installing a new driver? for my graphics card, I am unable to change the value for "Line break at column number."

Selecting the number and keying in a change results in the previous number jumping back in. I have checked the box and Apply and unchecked the box and applied and rechecked the box and applied.

This is happening in Default, Html, and Text as well as one custom type.

EDIT: The business of line wrap not sticking, and file open type has also resurfaced.

I forgot to mention the small detail that this is a fresh install of the OS .. long sad story.

SOLUTION: Roll-back. This problem went beyond TextPad. I was unable to change settings in other programs (for example, in Photoshop, changing size of images etc. was no longer possible). The cause seemed to me to have begun with the installation via Windows Update of an NVIDIA graphics card driver update. I restored to a point earlier than that installation and the problem was cured.
