Short cuts for sorting???

Post by Tom Anderson »

I am an old user of Text Pad 4 from a few years ago and I use to be able to place my mouse cursor to the left of the column I wanted to sort(after turning Block select on), then scroll to the bottom of the file and place my cursor to the right of the column, (using a certain key combination) the column would be highlighted and I could procede with my sort. I am getting too old now and I do not recall the key combination I used to use. I am not even sure if it will work with this newer version we just bought. My data files contain several thousand lines of data and to use the drag feature would take too much time. Anyone have any ideas for me??? Any help would be appreciated.

Shift-click is what you're after: turn on Block Select Mode, place the cursor at the top-left corner of the block you want to select, scroll down, then hold down the Shift key and click the bottom-right corner of the block.
