For programming I use Microsofts monospaced (non-proportional) Consolas font. This can easily be achieved in TextPad (either within document classes or individual file properties).
But if you need it for DOS-files, e.g. ".BAT" scripts, there is a bug in TextPad. You must then use the DOS codepage, i.e. "Script" "OEM/DOS" instead of "Western" and TextPad switches to some proportional (!) font, still claiming this was Consolas.
Hence you must decide to stay with "Script" "Western" and see wrong special characters, e.g. German umlaut äöü. Or stay with this TextPad-invented proportional font. Which is impossible for programming.
