Textpad menu bar hidden
I'm using Textpad 5 on Windows 2000 SP4. I've used it for years with no problem. But for the last few months or so, Textpad opens with no menu bar -- only the Windows title bar on top. I've tried all combinations of function and shift keys, searched the blogs, searched the TextPad forum site, searched the Windows registry, and completely uninstalled and reinstall the program. No joy anywhere. I assume this is just some view mode that can be turned off, but how??? Much thanks for any help, Steve
That's a tough one, with no 'View' or 'Customize' options it's hard to see how to get out of this.
No backup from before the problem started?
No malware, viruses, etc?
Can you uninstall and get absolutely everything TextPad off the machine?

Thank you for your replies, Mike and ak47.
I did uninstall and made sure the TextPad folder was completely gone in Program Files folder, but that probably did not purge "everything TextPad".
I did find a config.xml, although not in the suggested folder, probably because I'm still using Windows 2K. It had somehow grown to almost 600 lines, with multiple nested <CommandBars> tags and dozens of <CommandBar> tags. Renaming it did indeed bring back my menu bar.
The new config.xml that was created had a respectable 38 lines. Can't imagine how the old one got so bloated. Kind of like a cancer.
But I'm back to normal operations again. Thank you very much.

A forum for a text editor seems like a strange thing to have at the top of one's daily visit routine, but I learn something new here all the time.
Thanks from me too for pointing that solution out AK.
