Reinstalling Textpad 5

Post by lbspector »

I have a new desktop, and I copied Textpad5 from my laptop, and installed it. But all the macros are gone! Is there any way to recover them?

Look in the help file under How To > Customize Settings > Transferring Between PC's. The second paragraph deals with macros.

For the life of me, I cannot find the Macros folder on my laptop. It's supposed to be in Admin/Application Data/.... But there is no folder Application Data. I have tried every possible search: textpad, tpm -- but nothing! Yet the macros are on my laptop. Can anyone help?

Is the folder hidden? Try this:

1. Click Configure > Preferences > Folders.
2. Under File type click Macros.
3. Copy the folder path shown in the text box.
4. Open a Windows Explorer window.
5. In the Address bar, paste the folder path and press Enter.

If you want to be able to see hidden folders at all times, open the Folder Options dialog in Control Panel. On the View tab, under Hidden files and folders, select Show hidden files and folders.

Thank you, ak47Wong! Those files were hidden. And showing them solved the problem.
