It's probably been around 10 years since I've been using TextPad. Unfortunately, I've never been able to muster up the reason to actually purchase it, since it works perfectly well with the semi-annoying pop-up. I just want to say thank you and one day you will receive my thanks in form of a purchase. TextPad is a great text editor for Windows and blows all of the competitors out of the water.
There are certain things about TextPad that I can't live without. One is the macro support. They are simple and intuitive.
Another very subtle feature that I really appreciate is how TextPad handles moving the cursor from line to line. When I'm doing some tedious massaging of XML, tab-delimited or some other data, I love how after typing, the cursor returns to the previous column when I move one line up or down. No other text or source code editor I've encountered does this, but it's so useful when doing large edits that can't be accomplished with macros.
