It would be nice if there was the ability to "pin" a file to the list of recent files on the File menu. That way, even if you open 20 other files, the file you have pinned is always there.
MS Word 2008 does this.

Pinning Files
I agree that Pinning files would be an awesome feature. I have a few files I use all the time but they keep disappearing from the recent file list on me due to the number of files that I edit.
